宇留野圭は生活に付随する普遍的要素を用いて制作を行います。本展で紹介する「部屋」のインスタレーションでは、モチーフが媒体として極めてフラットに記号化されています。崩れそうになりながらも何とか形を保ち続けている様子は、構造的な問題を孕んだ現代社会における心理的なつながりや空間世界の描写です。本展覧会は、常に境界を設定してしまう我々の恣意的な行為を見直させる新たな視点と出会う機会となるでしょう。Kei Urano creates his works using universal elements associated with daily life. In the installation of "rooms" presented in this exhibition, motifs are highly flattened and symbolized as a medium. Despite appearing on the verge of collapse, they somehow manage to maintain their form, portraying psychological connections and depictions of spatial worlds in contemporary society laden with structural issues. This exhibition provides an opportunity to encounter new perspectives that prompt us to reconsider our arbitrary acts of setting boundaries. ---- 宇留野 圭 / Kei Urano 1993年岐阜県生まれ。 2023年名古屋芸術大学大学院美術研究科修了。部屋や洗面台などの身近なモチーフを元に、機械の構造を用いた立体作品や舞台装置の様なインスタレーション作品を制作している。Born in Gifu Prefecture in 1993. Graduated from the Graduate School of Fine Arts at Nagoya University of Arts in 2023. Using familiar motifs such as rooms and washbasins as a basis, he creates installation works resembling three-dimensional works and stage sets using mechanical structures.
